Unusual American cast iron bow fender bench with inset panel of gilt decorated ship with a buttoned hide seat. Attributed to Oscar Bruno Bach

German born Bach was one of the most technically gifted and commercially successful figures in the field of 20th century art metalwork.

His work ranges from small domestic items to grand, full scale architectural projects and examples can be seen in the Metropolitan Museum, The Wolfsonian and Reynola House. His crowning glory was the large stainless steel mural in the entrance lobby of the Empire State Building
